The GPN Fellowship is a two-year programme that supports transition into Primary Care for both newly qualified and new to Primary Care Nurses.

The GPN Fellowship is open to those newly qualified nurses in salaried or partner roles working in Greater Manchester and is designed to support induction into practice, PCN and the ICS whilst providing access to a peer support group and coaching.

  • Hold a substantive role in Greater Manchester
  • Are a newly qualified nurse or qualified within last 12 months
  • Have joined Primary Care within the last 12 months from another discipline
  • Self-led programme
  • Personal timetable planning
  • Develop and feel confident with digital technology
  • Improve patient outcomes via Portfolio work and non-clinical skills development.
  • Leadership development
  • Wider understanding of primary care and PCNs

The programme is for Newly qualified nurses and new to primary care nurses who have the drive to develop into a competent General Practice Nurse. The programme will support nurses to gain experience as a valued member of the primary care team in a supportive environment and help you to develop a broad understanding of the unique area of General Practice Nursing.

The programme offers one paid session (4hrs 10 min) per week and is delivered through a blend of self-led learning and flexible sessions across four modules over two years.
