Research Fellow EELE 3 project (Third Sector Practice Development)

University of Salford are pleased to be recruiting into a Research Fellow post to support GM and North West EELE Projects.

The Research Fellow post will support the development of the North West multi-professional programme for practice education ensuring quality supervision and assessment that meets the requirements of all healthcare professional bodies and to develop a framework around educating the educators.

The post will also support the Educate the Educator project and other Health Education England and Greater Manchester Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector Funded Projects 

HEE Training Hubs & GatewayC

practice nurses, GPs in training, health care assistants, physician associates
and other primary care professionals across England.

Our courses are supported by Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support
and other major cancer charities. Courses are accredited by the Royal College
of General Practitioners.

Genomics and Counselling skills course for nurses

The course focuses on the fundamentals of genomics, using examples from rare inherited diseases and common conditions such as cancer; the family history of a condition and the role of early screening and/or genomic testing in saving lives, allowing early intervention and enabling targeted treatment.

The University of the West of England is running the course, over a period of 15 weeks from the 19th October 2020.

The North West BSPHN Hub are delighted to invite you to their 2nd network event. This webinar offers an opportunity to be inspired by leaders in the fields of behavioural science and public health. You will hear examples of innovative and pragmatic applications of behavioural science to address health inequalities with a focus on vulnerable groups.

This webinar is designed for public health teams, healthcare providers & services, voluntary sector organisations, and stakeholders, to gain practical advice and knowledge in implementing behavioural science into their public health work, and subsequently improve public health intervention outcomes.

There are a range of exciting presentations and we are delighted to announce that Dr Grainne Dickerson, Senior Public Health Specialist, City of Bradford Metropolitan District will be sharing her work on increasing the uptake of flu vaccine during this event.

The Greater Manchester Training Hub have two vacancies on offer: 

Project Administrator:

NHS Englands General Practice Fellowship scheme is designed to support newly qualified GPs, including those working less than full time, to transition and support their training to an employed member of the primary care team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Coordinator/Administrator to join the Greater Manchester Training Hub (GMTH) team to deliver and support our new and prestigious Fellowship programme.

Clinical Educator Role: 

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse or AHP to join our team working across Wigan and Stockport initially with the potential to cover all of Greater Manchester. Working alongside the existing team supporting and enabling effective learning environments (EELE) within primary care, this role will focus specifically on developing learning environments within the care home setting.

Practice Educational Facilitator 

We are seeking a Practice Education Facilitator to join the team and support the advancement of the local training hub in delivering workforce development, training and education in localities, primary care networks and GP practices and providers. We are looking for an existing and experienced PEF who can bring the necessary expertise to a primary care setting.

Clinical Fellow

The Manchester, Stockport, Tameside and Glossop Local Training Hub (MSTG LTH), part of the Greater Manchester Training Hub is seeking a Clinical Fellow to support the advancement of the local training hub in delivering workforce development, training and education in localities, primary care networks and GP practices and providers.

SSSA Training: Update on the New NMC Standards for Nursing and Midwifery 2018

The aim of the training session is to give you an overview of the new standards and explain how these are relevant to your practice.

WHO 
The Primary Care PEF’s are delivering the update sessions via Webinar.

HOW 
All you will need to do is click on the link or, dial in via the mobile phone connection that we send to you in an email to join, no IT knowledge or training required.

WHERE 
You can join the session from anywhere that you can receive an email even if you are self-isolating at home.

WHY 
The session will be evidence to support your revalidation. It’s your responsibility to understand and be able to apply the new standards.

The sessions will be delivered on

Your practice will receive £25 per hour for each person who remotely attends the training, the session will take up to a maximum of 2 hours

PA Supervision Support Programme For GPs

The primary care team recently commissioned a 1:1 bespoke (remote) ‘hand holding’ service for any GP practices looking to employ a PA for the first time. The programme will be provided at no cost to practices for up to a year. Primary care, PA and training hub leads as well as PA ambassadors may be contacted to avoid duplication of effort. Help will be delivered by a team of PA experienced GPs, GP experienced PAs, a primary care lawyer, service design specialists and healthcare recruitment and workforce specialists.

Clinical Supervisor Course

Training

This is a course for General Practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals working at Advance Clinical Practice level, who wish to clinically supervise the wider workforce in a primary care clinical learning environment.

In the current climate, we are having to move away from face to face meetings and need to try a blended online approach with some preparation work.

Participants will need to work in a GP practice and have their practice approved as an educational environment.

The course will be run over two separate days with some inter-modular work. It is essential that both modules are attended and completed. There are two course dates to choose from

Course #1 (Module #1): 18th September 2020
Course #1 (Module #2): 16th October 2020

OR

Course #2 (Module #1): 6th November 2020
Course #2 (Module #2): 20th November 2020
